This innovative mental health program exists to help adolescents and young adults ages 17-28 navigate life’s challenges. It is specifically meant for individuals who are finding difficulty transitioning into adulthood and are experiencing mild substance addiction, internet addiction, autism spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, depression, learning disabilities, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Levels of Treatment

Optimum Performance Institute (OPI) has 3 levels of care: intensive, standard and outpatient. The intensive program is meant for young adults with borderline personality disorder, bipolar and any other clinically complex mental health disorder. The intensive program is a structured day treatment-style approach, and the residents live in a luxury-style apartment nearby as they progress through the program. The residents participate in psychiatry appointments and intensive individual and group counseling sessions. The clinician to resident ratio in this program is 1:2. The standard program is for individuals with less acute struggles and includes life coaching, counseling, career assistance, education and addiction counseling if need be. The outpatient program offers individual, group and family therapy, as well as peer mentoring, home healthcare services and parent coaching.

Customized Life Plan

Upon joining OPI, residents meet with the department of educational services, career development, volunteer services and extra curricular activities to establish an individualized treatment plan. Each participant’s schedule is different from any other because it focuses on their individual goals. Some participants may attend AA/NA meetings, while others might attend a mandatory cooking class. Some might join an improv group, others might go to culinary school or a musician’s institute. Despite the differences in treatment plans, everybody gets back together for gender-specific group therapy and medication management.

Care Options

Levels of Care

Mental health care includes a range of services such as counseling, therapy, medication management, and support groups, all designed to address issues from everyday stress and anxiety to more severe conditions like depression and schizophrenia. These practices are essential for helping individuals manage their emotions, improve their relationships, and navigate life's challenges in healthier, more adaptive ways.
Residential
Intensive monitoring and care for conditions like depression, trauma, suicidality, and anxiety. Residential mental health facilities offer a safe setting with activities and structure, plus opportunities to practice life skills and bond with peers.
Day Treatment
In a PHP, patients live at home but follow an intensive schedule of treatment. Most programs require you to be on-site for about 40 hours per week.
Intensive Outpatient Program
An intensive outpatient program (IOP) falls between inpatient care and traditional outpatient services, with therapy and skills-building activities designed to support recovery and provide flexibility. IOP is ideal for those needing support but not the 24/7 care of a residential facility.
Outpatient
Outpatient treatment offers flexible therapeutic and medical care without the need to stay overnight in a hospital or inpatient facility. Outpatient care typically offers a range of therapies and medical interventions individuals can attend alongside daily life.
Virtual & In-Home Care
Not Offered at This Center
The delivery of therapeutic services utilizing technology such as video conferencing, online messaging or phone calls, allowing for flexibility, comfort and increased access to care.
Co-Occurring Substance Use
Substance use disorders often occur alongside primary mental health conditions. Programs for co-occurring substance use disorders focus on both conditions, tailoring treatment for comprehensive recovery.
